Welcome

Welcome
Highest ski and mountain village in Styria

At 1,600 to 2,200 meters above sea level
nature is your leisure guide

You have arrived in the mountain village, welcome.

With every bend along the road from Donnersbach, you are a little further away from everyday life. From now on you can largely do without means of transport, technology and systems. Because the Plannerkessel offers everything for short and long stays to experience relaxation in a varied and natural way.

Use nature consciously,
be yourself again, without any predetermined appointment calendar.

A few ideas for your
summer vacation days:

The Planneralm is ideal for light exercise, but also for hobby athletes to train at high altitude.

Hiking is the classic. Running easy hiking trails is more of a challenge.

Get a "Sommerfreizeitkarte" and create your own training program.

Sports and exercise on the mountain

Our most popular mountain lake is a soothing way to cool down. for hikers

If you swim in the lake, you can enjoy a wonderful panorama and forget that it is not one of the warmest lakes 🙂

Please consider: it is a natural lake, not a bathing pond. Please do not contaminate it – not even with sunscreen.

The Expedition Little John is Alpine playground and training ground at the same time.

The Balanceparcours for smaller children is simply fun and promotes their motor skills at the same time.

The climbing route is a real challenge for older children and adults and trains almost all muscles without you noticing.

Fun and games, the "Expedition Little John"

The Schrabachalm has received multiple awards for its dairy products. You can find out how the Steirerkas and other products are made on display boards along the Kasweg.

The best for last: the snack on the Schrabachalm.

Arrows have been flying on the Planneralm and in Donnersbach since 1997.

The courses on the Planneralm are among the most beautiful in Austria.

Both body and mind are equally challenged for young and old.

You can find all the information in the Ewis Hütte and in the Haus des Bogens.

On an easy walk along the herbal trail you will learn interesting facts about the healing properties and the use of plants on high mountain pastures.

You won't find all of them at every phenological season. But the boards are your companion on the Frieda Wegerl throughout the summer.

Everywhere on the Planneralm you can observe small natural wonders with patience.

The moors on the alp are very special and largely protected. It took many centuries for it to reach the forms it has today.

At Alpengasthof Grimmingblick you can rent two motorbikes and cruise the mountain roads of Donnersbachtal, Ennstal and Ausseerland.

The different mountain landscapes can be "experienced" particularly well by motorbike.

The cool nights are your guarantee for the important rest during sleep

On the Planneralm you can holiday in
in the climatic comfort zone.

Sleep at night serves as a necessary rest for us humans. If it is too warm at night, the body can recover less easily because it stays busy cooling the body. On the Planneralm, the nights are much cooler than in the valley or in cities: about 14 degrees cooler compared to Graz.

That's why you sleep more restfully here and can recharge your body's batteries.

Which hut, which restaurant is open today?

The opening hours of the restaurants vary in summer. So that you always know which restaurant and which hut is open today, you can easily find out for the current day and 2 days in advance via our restaurant opening times service:

Food vending machine

Quick snacks and some staples are available just to your left at the food vending machine, where you can pay by card.

Cash machine

You can pay by card everywhere on the Alm. If you still need cash, the nearest ATMs are in Donnersbach and Irdning.
